In some parts of western Canada Bars & Restaurants are allowed to have live entertainment again with restrictions on crowds and safety measures put into place for staff, performers, and patrons.
In Ontario bars and restaurants have finally opened with restrictions on number of patrons but live entertainment is not allowed. Support your local bars and restaurants and follow the guidelines for the safety of everyone.
On of my favourite types of photography is taking pictures of performers on stage. I try to convey the joy of performing in front of a live audience. With the changes to Comedy Clubs, Bars, and Restaurants due to Covid-19 this might become challenging!
Plexiglass barriers have been installed around stages and tables have been spread out to allow social distancing. The intimacy of small music and comedy venues has been replaced by performers in a fish tank and the audience watching from afar with mask's on.
In some venues in Toronto the ownership has the audience out on their back patio and the performers on a stage with a camera connected to the television screens. To hear the crowd's reaction microphones and set up outside with speakers inside for the performers to hear the audience.
Time will tell how Comedy Clubs, Music Venues, Bars, and Restaurants adjust to the "New Normal" in live performances in small to medium establishments. Larger concert venues are also sorting out the logistics of re-opening with smaller crowds and safety measures being put in place.
