Well, this has been a strange year from me. A roller coaster, both physically, mentally, and professionally.
The year started off on a positive note and then on March 14, 2021, I broke my right arm in half. On April 8, 2021, I had major surgery. Thing were progressing well until mid august when I developed a very serious infection in the surgically repaired arm.
I then had emergency surgery on August 24, 2021, to clean out the infection in my arm. This was a very dangerous infection, and it was touch and go for a few months. Luckily, the infection did not reappear, and arm is on the mend.
I have had daunting physiotherapy since April with a one-month break after the second surgery. I must say that the second surgery really set me back both physically and mentally. This combined with the continuing fight against Covid-19 has changed my outlook on life. I have not been able to spend any time doing photography or any of my other passions. It has reaffirmed how much I need to be walking around on a daily basis with my camera documenting life.
I hope to be active in the new year continuing to enjoy the wonders of life through photography, thankfully with two functional arms. The love and support of my family and close friends has been instrumental in both my physical and mental recovery.
On November 29, 2021, my cousin gave birth to her lovely little daughter. The year ends on a very bright spot.
