Strange Times

These are indeed strange times in the year 2020. Not the 2020 that we had hoped for on New Years Eve 2019. I hope that everyone is staying both physically & mental healthy, practising social distancing and getting some exercise.

Photography is a great outlet for my creative juices, as it allows me to explore the beauty, bizarre, dark and inspiring parts of our world.

Water has always been something i have been drawn to from an early age. In fact, from about 7 years old onward, I spent my summers swimming either at the "Y" or the neighbourhood pool. It was always a treat to go up to Northern Ontario and spend hours sitting on the beach and watching the waves as mother nature decided if they would be calm or violent.

About twenty years ago, I was lucky enough to visit Banff, Lake Louise & Jasper. The view was incredible and swimming in Radium Hot Springs in Northern BC was refreshing. Being near water brings a calmness to my soul, so photographing water was a natural extension. It has allowed me to help release the daily stress of living through 2020.

In the winter, I enjoyed nothing more then going ice skating with my buddies on the outdoor rink, but first we had to shovel the layer of snow off it. To this day I love the sound of a skate blade cutting through the ice and the smell of the ice when I fall on my butt.

So grab your camera and enjoy the nice weather and spend some time taking pictures of water, or sit by a pool, lake, or fountain and relax listening to the sound of water. Please remember to social distance and be kind to each other
