Summer has arrived in 2020 and this year will be the strangest summer of our lives. Please social distance, get outside and take some pictures.
I like to take long walks with my camera, a 50mm prime lens, and a 18-55mm zoom. This gives me some versatility while not carrying to much weight. Take a bottle of water with you, sunscreen, and a hat. Camera accessories you should think about include, circular polarizing filter, a dust blower, a microfiber soft cleaning cloth. and an extra battery.
During these walks, I like to look for interesting architecture, landscaping, signs, and people.
I have found that people take pictures of images that evoke a response either positive or negative.
It could be a happy/sad memory or a desire to explore something in the future.
One of my favourite childhood memories is spending a Saturday afternoon wandering through the original dollar store "Honest Ed's" in Toronto ON. This four floor monster of a store took up three city blocks. Wooden floors with splinters and creaky wood steps. The "Honest Ed's" sign became legendary. Unfortunately, times have changed and was torn down to make way for yet another Condo development. Let's hoe that the famous sign will be preserved!
