What is happening!

Fall Photography...

it is the fall, and tree leaves are changing colour. This is a great time to take your camera out and enjoy everything that the fall season has to offer.

Halloween is just around the corner, and then we are into the stretch run up to the Christmas season. In Canada we just had the Thanksgiving weekend and before we turn around it will be American Thanksgiving.

The weather is perfect to go out and take pictures or do a video. Look at the season's harvests. Use a polarizing filter. Take macro photos. Take outdoor portraits. It is a great time for Landscape photography.

For outdoor portraits try these colours to compliment the season. A fall photoshoot ideally has greens, reds, oranges, yellows in the background due to the foliage, so you want your outfits to compliment (and be complimented by) that! Typically, you'll also want to avoid pure white and pure black.

The colors most associated with fall are orange, red, yellow and brown, and green inspired by the seasonal changing of leaves' colours as temperatures drop and daylight shrinks.

Golden hour is simply the perfect time for portrait photography. In autumn, you don't need to wake up super early to catch the sunrise or wait too long for it to come down. The sought-after golden effect is easier to get this season. This light flatters your skin and intensifies the natural festival of colour.

As usual, I cannot recommend the perfect camera for beginners to learn photography. But, I did find this great article by James Artaius talking about different types of beginners cameras!

New Camera Launch:

Nikon just released it's new Nikon ZF Retro Mirrorless Camera. It falls into the advance enthusiastic photographer hands, and is based on the vintage Nikon FM2 film body. It has a 24 megapixel full framed sensor, and has many of the bells and whistles found in the professional Z8 and Z9.
